Jeffery Hendershott busted for DUI

Please don't judge a kid by the actions of his parents.

Despite being the son of police thug and terrorist Chief Deputy David Hendershott, Jeffery Hendershott just might be an honest, ethical, law abiding kid.

Who cares about the DUI charge, that is a victimless crime that our government masters use to raise revenue.

But I do have a problem with his leaving the scene of an accident. That is a crime. It's simply wrong to crash your car into someone and then leave.

The Arizona Republic

Jeffrey Hendershott, the son of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's former Chief Deputy David Hendershott, was arrested and booked into county jail Tuesday morning on charges stemming from an auto accident in north Phoenix.

Court records obtained by The Arizona Republic show Jeffrey Hendershott, 29, was arrested shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday by the Phoenix Police Department after an accident near 27th Avenue and Beardsley Road that police allege involved his yellow Hummer H2.

According to a police probable-cause statement, Hendershott is alleged to have run a red light, struck another vehicle and left the scene. There were no injuries in the accident, police said. Click here to find out more!

When Jeffrey Hendershott was arrested in a neighborhood northwest of the accident scene, the probable-cause statement said, officers found prescription drugs in his possession. The statement said he admitted to driving the vehicle and having ingested drugs.

He was booked on two charges of driving under the influence, a charge of leaving the scene, and was cited for civil traffic violations of running a red light and failing to update his home address on his driver's license.

He was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 5.

Maricopa County Superior Court records show he faced a marijuana charge in 2003, but the matter was dismissed by prosecutors.

His father, David Hendershott, was once Arpaio's top aide. The sheriff fired the elder Hendershott earlier this year after an internal investigation concluded that he had mismanaged the Sheriff's Office, abused his position, violated county policies and was untruthful.
