A 31-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on suspicion of trying to meet teenage girls online and lure them to a meeting place for sex, police said Friday.

Those "teens" were actually Phoenix police officers.

Sgt. Steve Martos, a Phoenix police spokesman, said Jason Dubin believed he had met a 17-year-old girl while in an online chat room and wanted to meet her in person to engage in "sex acts."

Authorities said Dubin asked the 17-year-old to bring a friend and then agreed to meet when the teen said she was bringing a 14-year-old girl.

When Dubin arrived at the meeting place, police arrested him on suspicion of aggravated luring of a minor.

Dubin refused to speak with police regarding the investigation, but he professed to be the legal adviser or attorney to several professional athletes, Martos said.

Dubin does not appear in listings on the State Bar of Arizona website. Gaylord Sports Management confirmed he worked for the company until about a year ago but would not say in what capacity.

Records from the Arizona Corporation Commission show Dubin started a limited-liability company called Athlete Advisory Group within the past year.

Although there do not appear to be victims associated with this case, Phoenix police are encouraging anyone with information to call 602-920-3460.
