Falsely Arrested at Tempe Transit Center

Friday, December 16, 2:27 - Falsely Arrested by Tempe Police - Again

Today I was falsely arrested by a rentacop at the Tempe bus station.

I was only arrested for 60 seconds, but that is enough for me to file a lawsuit against the city of Tempe, Valley Metro, the company that rents Tempe the rentacop, and the cop who arrested me, along with the bus driver who ordered me to be arrested.

I got on one of those free buses and the lady driver told the cop to remove me from the bus.

The cop who removed me from the bus told me I could not ride on the bus because I had a deadly weapon, and lied and said that deadly weapons were prohibited on Valley Metro buses.

The piggie claims a baseball bat I had was a deadly weapon.

When I told the piggie that Valley Metro doesn't prohibit weapons on it's buses he changed his story and said that drivers could refuse to let anybody ride on their buses for any reason.

Oddly I was arrested when the drivers were changing shifts.

The new bus driver said he didn't care if I rode on his bus and let me back on the bus.

Of course that means the piggy was lying about the deadly weapons stuff. And it should look interesting in court.

Here are some photos and notes I took about the incident:

Bus Rights under Title VI

On December 27, my zipper on my old coat broke and I switched coats.

By accident I found a yellow sheet of paper handed out by the city of Tempe in my coat pocket which said this:

Know your rights under Title VI

The city of Tempe, under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes, must ensure that no person in the city of Tempe shall, on grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, disability and age, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any federally funded program or activity it administers.

Customer Rights and Grievances

Passengers using federally funded public transit should have equal access, seating and treatment. Complaints for non-compliance with Title VI and related statutes may be lodged with Valley Metro customer service at 602-253-5000 (TTY 602-261-8208).

Complaints that customer service receives are documented and assigned to the appropriate transit staff for investigation in accordance with federal standards. After processing the complaint, customer service will respond to the complaint and, if warranted by the investigation, take appropriate action. The city of Phoenix Public Transit Department is responsible for monitoring this process and completed reports.

Of course I suspect that your rights as out lined on this yellow sheet of paper are not enforced by the government any more then your rights under the Bill of Rights.

They are both worthless pieces of paper that are used by our government masters as toilet paper.

March 7 6, 2012 - Another Incident

I didn't get arrested this time, but I suspect the rent a pig at the Tempe Transit Center jerked me around.

Normally when I use the restroom at the Tempe Transit Center I take my bicycle inside the restroom with me so it doesn't get stolen.

It's a lot easier to do that then locking my bike to a rack on the outside, taking a leak or a dump and then unlocking my bike again.

The incident happened on Tuesday, March 7 6 just before 8:43 am.

I just got off the light rail, went to the rest room to take a leak, and when I was leaving the restroom the rent-a-pig told me not to take my bike into the restroom again.

There are no signs posted saying that it is illegal to take bicycles into the restrooms, so I suspect the rentapig just told me that it wasn't allowed because he enjoys bossing people around.

Here is where I first documented the incident.

I uploaded the photos to here and here.
