TSA revises screening procedures for kids

TSA propaganda poster to make kids feel good about being searched by a government thug

How sweet? TSA thugs will no longer be searching and feeling up your children before they board a plan.

Of course you can bet the pedophiles in the TSA will be complaining to their union about this loss of a job perk!

TSA revises screening procedures for kids v Good news for harried parents traveling with children: the Transportation Security Administration is revising airport security procedures for children ages 12 and under.

The most noticeable change: children no longer have to take off their shoes at the security checkpoint.

The most significant change: fewer pat-downs. Instead of an automatic pat-down when they trigger a security alert after passing through the metal detector or body scanner, children will now be allowed to make multiple trips through the metal detector or have a clearer image taken on the body scanner. TSA spokesman Nico Melendez said.

The pat downs are seen by most as unnecessary and invasive since children generally don't pose a big security risk. Some incidents have received national publicity.

The TSA, in a blog post today, said the changes are part of its focus on risk-based security and will allow airport screeners to concentrate on passengers who "are more likely to pose a risk to transportation.''

The changes, which were tested in a handful of cities this summer including Atlanta, Denver and Orlando, will be rolled out in Phoenix and the rest of the country by the end of this month, Melendez said.
