Mesa pigs attaching GPS devices to cars to track people
"Mesa detectives placed a tracking device on Brown's SUV, recording him at the location of two recent appliance burglaries" I don't have a problem when the police arrest real criminals like the guy in this article. My problem is that two thirds of the people sent to prison by the pigs are being arrested for victimless drug war crimes, which hurt no one. Mesa man arrested, suspected of stealing appliances by John Genovese - Dec. 8, 2011 06:53 PM The Arizona Republic A 44-year-old Mesa man was arrested on suspicion of stealing household appliances from seven vacant homes over the past nine months, authorities said. According to police, Perry Brown was seen about 10 a.m. Wednesday removing appliances from two homes near Southern Avenue and Val Vista Drive. Detectives, who had Brown under surveillance, followed him away from the homes and arrested him shortly afterward. Police believe Brown is connected to five other Mesa burglaries that have happened this year. On April 3, appliances were taken from a home near Southern Avenue and Signal Butte Road. Authorities said a rear window of the home was broken, and Brown's DNA was found on a beer can left inside. During two other Mesa burglaries, occurring April 4 and September 24, witnesses identified Brown in a photo line-up and reported seeing his white Nissan Xterra parked outside the homes. Mesa detectives placed a tracking device on Brown's SUV, recording him at the location of two recent appliance burglaries occurring November 11 near Brown Road and Val Vista Drive and November 13 near Brown and Recker roads. Sgt. Ed Wessing, a spokesman for Mesa police, said dishwashers, ovens, and refrigerators were stolen. Records state that all the incidents have "similar methods of entries and property taken." According to court records, Brown has previously been arrested for burglary, theft, forgery, possession of dangerous drugs, DUI, hit and run, shoplifting, and resisting arrest. |
